A Unique Winter Vacation Experience
When the days grow a little shorter and the crowds have all gone home, those in the know find a frosty playground in Door County. Evergreens dressed in wintry-white provide a magical backdrop for over 100 miles of skiing, snowshoeing and hiking trails. The jingle of bells breaks the silence during an old-fashioned horse-drawn sleigh ride. Our quiet season provides the perfect opportunity to experience the pristine beauty of Door County in winter. Travel and Leisure voted northern Door County one of America’s Best Winter Drives!
For those guests who want to turn up the volume a little, Door County has over 250 miles of snowmobile trails to explore, including 17 miles of perfectly groomed trails in nearby Peninsula State Park. One of these crosses our road within a quarter of a mile of Five Birches. The Fish Creek Winter Festival celebrates the season with a parade, ice sculpture carving, and fireworks over the frozen bay.
Indulge your need to be pampered with a day in one of Fish Creek’s acclaimed spas or show off your sturdy constitution as you try your hand at ice fishing. Treat yourself to great shopping and fine dining without the crowds.
There are many wonderful ways to spend a winter’s day in Door County, but the best days end here, in front of the fire, at Five Birches.
